I am committed to the town of Petaluma; I have lived here with my family for 13 years and have made it our permanent home. Therefore, I believe it is a priority to devote my time, energy and efforts in building up and supporting the education of Petaluma students. My training as a school counselor has given me hands-on experience working as part of an educational team. I have worked to foster positive school climates conducive to learning and supporting students in academic, career and personal/social development. Membership on the school board would be an extension of this role.
I was raised by a single mother. Growing up, my brothers and I benefited from having a mother who was not only our fiercest advocate, but was also clear about the importance of education. Every child deserves this sort of advocacy and educational support. Every child deserves a safe, nurturing school community that supports their social and emotional development, as well as their academic growth. I am committed to making this a priority in Petaluma.
